This includes monitoring service availability, troubleshooting and resolution of faults, proactive service performance and configuration management. Particular focus will be on SMS applications used to deliver services. Key responsibilities: Ensure availability of SMS application*services. Develop suite of tools and*or scripts that will enable effective service performance management. Monitor a range of business critical real-time systems that SMS services. Participate in fault management activities ensuring all problems raised are resolved in the appropriate time-scales. Analyse service performance and produce recommendations to improve efficiency and availability of those services. Liase with internal development teams, internal customers and 3rd parties where required for the timely resolution of faults or delivery of new features. Produce or update service management documentation. Essential Minimum of 2 years experience of SMS application support (UNIX, VMS, Database) Experience of using and developing service statistics to develop operational, maintenance and performance reports. At least 2 years 2nd Line Support experience, preferably in the Telecommunications or IT industry. Excellent analytical and problem solving abilities.
